SUBJECT: Municipal Park — Playground Layout
The purpose of this correspondence is to recommend a change to the layout of the play
equipment for the upcoming Municipal Park Playground Improvement Project.
The Landscape Architect, Nancy Casey with Casey Planning & Design, has presented some
compelling reasons for changing the placement of the play areas. Nancy will give a brief
overview and be available to answer any questions you may have.
Attached is the proposed Playground Layout (sheet 1-1/03 -05 -2015) for your review. Some key
points are: 1) Moves the 2 -5 year old area up front and closer to the restroom; 2) Eliminates the
need for 2 -5 year olds to access through the 5 -12 year old area; 3) Keeps all the 5 -12 year old
equipment in one confined area along the back perimeter, and; 4) Should result in a slight cost
savings (less space required and less 4x4 borders).
Please feel free to call me at 283 -8261 should you have any questions.

SUBJECT: Park & Trail Guide
The purpose of this correspondence is to present a draft layout of our new Park & Trail Guide
brochures I have been working on.
The plan is to wrap up the basic format and layout before sending off to the print vendor for
the final design. You will have an opportunity to view the proof before going to print.
Although still in the draft phase and uncompleted, the attached sample represents what I had
in mind for a layout. The Kenai Parks & Open Space Directory section will provide the reader
with a quick glance at the various amenities for each park. The City of Kenai Trails and Disc Golf
Courses map is for representation purposes only. However, I envision something similar on the
inside of the brochure and once completely unfolded, the reader would have access to a
detailed location map with pictures of the various parks, facilities and open space areas.
I welcome any comments and suggestions you may have. Please feel free to call me at 283-
8261 should you have any questions.
