We should have sufficient cash operation capital. Hopefully, we will not have to borrow next year during the lean months. .Planning__& Zon..ing's Report Fisher reported the Planning & Zoning approved an access road from the North end of Gill St. to the Spur Highway. The Street Naming and Numbering is in the final stages. Mr. McLane will bring_finished maps and index cards to the next meeting. ..Borough.. Assembly.men' s Report '~'6'r~aday.. gave the Borough. Assemblymen's Report. , . The Assembly went over the budget for at least two hours and reduced it department by department,. and then rescinded the motion to reduce it and p.as.sed the budge_t as proppsed. The Chairman recommended an in-step increase for Borough emp% oyees. The hospi~a.1 will. open June 12, 1.971. Governor Egan will be there. The Wilderness area was discussed. The Assembly are allowing..2 more liqnr licenses, one in Anchor Point and one in the Hop.e area. The Assembly will have their next meeting in Seward concerning zoning problems there. F' OLD BUSINESS F- 1 Amendin..g. Ordinance 167-69, Street Naming. and Numbering ', ~ G, G - 1 G - 2 The introduction of this ordinance will be brought up. at the~next council Meeting.of June 2, 19 71. Malone stated that once the map is approved, there is a demand for small maps of street names and numbe'rs and the City should look into this. NEW BUSINESS Resolution .71-17, Industrial Water Grant The Grant has been written up..~and the resolution muSt ac'c~mp'any_ it. ' ' ~ Malone moved and Biele£eld seconded ,for adoption of Resolution 71-17 - Industrial Water Grant. The motion carried unanimously. Resolution 71-18 - Transf.e.r qf._~.%~nd ~o..Kenaitze Indian Tribe George. Mi'ller Jr., President of the"Kenaitze Indian Tribe, came to the City and asked if the City could make lands available for low cost Native Housings... The Kenaitze Indian Tribe can get Grants through the Federal Native Housing Act to build 2S to SO low income houses. The City would stipulate they must p_rpvide streets and water and sewer hook-up... Bielefeld'moved and Noren~ seconded to table Resolution 71-18 to have it go back to Planning and Zoning for their recommendation. The motion carried unanimous ly. Rpad ..... ~ ..... Redoubt Terrace S/D Th~'~e'" is 'preSentlY only one access road from the Redoubt Terrace S/D. The Fire Dep.artment and Burton Carver are concerned about this. After much discussion, Biele£eld moved and Norene seconded to allow the access road only to 'be constructed by. the State to alleviate traffic.' The motion failed unanimously. Malone moved and Doyle seconded to direct the City' Manager to see if another access road to be acquired by the developer and if not, get permission from the develop_er to make the access. The motion carried unanimously. · . .Opening.. of Bids - Dock Repair The Ci.t.y.. sent out four p_rppp.$a.l.s and received three. Proposal #1 - Doyles Bxcavating_. Total City Cost $5,616.00 Proposal #2 - Port of Kenai Total City. Cost 6,624.00 Proposal #3 Haller Construction Not responsive to request instructions.
