Re: Resolution 2015 -31
The purpose of this memo is to provide support for and to recommend passage of Resolution
2015 -31. Resolution 2015 -31 authorizes a budget transfer within various departments of the
General Fund for health care expenditures in excess of budgeted amounts.
The budget for each department's health care is based upon the estimated cost for coverage and
the estimated coverage to be selected by each employee. Should an employee select coverage
other than what was anticipated a budget surplus or deficit will occur. The total amount
budgeted for employee health care in the City's General Fund is sufficient but adjustment is
needed between departments to correct surpluses and deficits that have occurred. No
supplemental funding is required. Resolution 2015 -31 authorizes the budget adjustments and its
passage is recommended.
