Members absent - None NEW BUSINESS Awarding of Bid - Fort Kenay Complex_ The City advertized and opened the bids at 2'00 P.M. September 22, 1971. The engineers estimate on the project was $6,450. There was only one bid in the amount of $11,267.00 from Robert Oehler. The Administration recommends that all bids be rejected and the project be re-bid in the spring. · Doyle moved and Norene seconded to accept the City Manager's recommendation and reject all bids and re- bid in the spring. The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. The Administration was directed to write a letter to Mr. Oehler, thanking him for his bid and inviting him to bid again' in the spring. ~ Awarding of Bid - Airport Project .71-1 The City advertized and opened the bids at 2'00 P.M. September 22, 1971. The engineers estimate was $137.441.25. The Administration recommends that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Anchorage Asphalt and Paving Co. Inc. at $108,661.10, subject to the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration on their review of the bids and also on their participation in the project with a grant to the City of Kenai. Bielefeld moved and McGrady seconded to accept the City Manager's recommendation and award the contract to Anchorage Asphalt and Paving Co. GLOTFELTY, CITY MANAGER AWARD OF BIDS ON AIRPORT PROJECT 71-1 The City of Kenai advertized for the required legal period of' time and op~ned the bids on the above mentioned project at 2'00 P.M. this September 22, 1971. We received four bids. The bids are computed and are an attachement to this memorandum. The low bid being Anchorage Asphalt and Paving Co. Inc. at $108,661.10. The engineers estimate on the project $137,441.25. THE CITY ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Anchorage Asphalt and Paving Co. Inc. at $108,661.10, subject to the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration on their review of the bids and also on thei.r participation in the project with a grant to the City of Kenai. The following bids were received: Alaska Asphalt Paving Co., Inc. 148,813.75 A and G Construction Co., Inc. 138,915.00 Peter Kewit and Sons Inc. · Anchorage Asphalt Paving 129,398.00 Co., 'Inc 108,661.10 Engineer's Estimate 137,441.25 The above bids have been checked for accuracy 'and were found correct. · My recommendation is that we award the bid to the low bidder, Anchorage Asphault Paving Company Inc. for 108,661.10 subject to approval and gran~om the~-~~erai~ Aviation Agency.
