CITY OF KENAI
ORDINANCE NO. 2842 -2015
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, ACCEPTING
AND APPROPRIATING DONATIONS RECEIVED FOR THE MUNICIPAL PARK
PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Mayor Porter championed a fundraising drive to raise funds for upgrades
to the City's Municipal Park Playground; and,
WHEREAS, previously donations of $30,125 were appropriated via Ordinance 2808-
2014; and,
WHEREAS, since the passage of Ordinance 2808 -2014 the City has received an
additional $750 in donations for the project; and,
WHEREAS, $500 of additional donations were received from Mayor Pat Porter and
husband Larry Porter; and $250 from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous; and,
WHEREAS, accepting and appropriating these donated funds as directed by the
donors is in the best interest of the City and its residents.
Section 1. Form. That this is a non -code ordinance.
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to accept donations for the Municipal
Park Playground Upgrade Project in the amounts of $750 and to expend the donated
funds to fulfill the purpose and intent of this ordinance.

The purpose of this ordinance is to recommend adoption of Ordinance 2842 -2015. The Mayor
championed a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the City's Municipal Park Playground
Upgrade Project. To date as a result of this fundraiser, the City has received $30,875 of which
$30,125 was appropriated via Ordinance 2808 -2014. Since adoption of Ordinance 2808 -2014
the City has received an additional $750 from the following donors:
Mayor Pat Porter and husband Lary Porter $500.00
Donor wishing to remain anonymous 250.00
$750.00
This Ordinance, if adopted, will appropriate these additional donations for the City's Municipal
Park Playground Upgrade Project.
