CITY OF KENAI
ORDINANCE NO. 2850 -2015
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, INCREASING
ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $2,500 IN THE GENERAL FUND
- FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR AN EQUIPMENT GRANT PROVIDED BY THE SOUTHERN
REGION EMS COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the Southern Region EMS Council, has provided an EMS mini -grant in the
amount of $2,500 to assist the Kenai Fire Department in purchasing EMS equipment;
and,
WHEREAS, the local 50% match for this funding was met by the Fire Department by
the purchase of two ambulance cots in FY2015; and,
WHEREAS, appropriation of this grant for its intended purpose is in the best interest
of the City and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA:
Section 1. Form. That this is a non -code ordinance.
Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to accept funds in the amount of
$2,500 and to expend the funds to fulfill the purpose and intent of this ordinance.
Section 3. That estimated revenues and appropriations be increased as follows:
General Fund
Increase Estimated Revenues:
Other Grants - Fire $2,500
Increase Appropriations:
Fire - Small Tools /Minor Equipment $2,500

In 2014 the City of Kenai Fire Department applied to the Southern Region EMS Council
for an EMS Mini -grant to be used as a match in the purchase of EMS equipment. The
department was successful in its application and was awarded $2,500.00. We have
received the grant funding and would like to have the funds appropriated to GL #001-
422 -2024.
