SUBJECT: Shop Department budget transfer
Rick,
This memo is in support of a resolution transferring funds within the Shop Department
operating budget to allow for training of our future mechanic by our existing mechanic.
Due to lower than average precipitation this winter there were fewer repairs required to
snow removal equipment. This has resulted in a surplus of funds in the operating and
supplies account.
One of our two mechanics has submitted a resignation letter effective May 31, 2016.
The transfer of these funds will allow us to hire his replacement prior to that date to allow
for training of the new employee by the existing employee.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
