SUBJECT: Request Ordinance No. 2891 appropriating anticipated training
funds from the Alaska Police Standards Council
The Alaska Police Standards Council provides funding assistance to law
enforcement agencies in Alaska. The APSC has agreed to reimburse the Kenai
Police Department for $1,361.94 in training costs associated with sending one
officer out of state for hostage negotiations training. The officer attended the
training in late April.
This training was not budgeted in the FY16 budget. This appropriation is
necessary to provide sufficient budget for the expenditure.
I am requesting an appropriation of $1,361.94 into the general fund, police
transportation account.
