A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AMENDING ITS
COMPREHENSIVE SCHEDULE OF RATES, CHARGES, AND FEES TO ELIMINATE FEES
FOR PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCIES, AS RECOMMENDED BY THE POLICE CHIEF.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai passed ordinance 2964-2017 repealing Chapter
5.15 from the City Code on June 7, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, it was Chapter 5.15 in the City Code that regulated Private Detectives and
established what fees were required for the regulation of Private Detectives; and,
WHEREAS, the repeal of Chapter 5.15 from the City Code is effective on July 7, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, private detective agency fees are incorporated into the City's Comprehensive
Schedule of Rates, Charges and Fees and should be removed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA:
Section 1. The Private Detective Agencies Fees section of the City's Comprehensive
Schedule of Rates, Charges and Fees be amended as follows:
[PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCIES
5.15.020 DETECTIVE AGENCY LICENSE — PER YEAR $50.00
5.15.040 PRIVATE DETECTIVE LICENSE — PER YEAR $5.001
Section 2. That this resolution takes effect July 7, 2017.

SUBJECT: Amending Fee Schedule to Remove Private Detective Fees
The purpose of this memo is to support the removal of the Private Detective Agency section from
the City's Comprehensive Schedule of Rates, Charges and Fees. On June 7`h the City Council
passed ordinance 2964-2017, repealing Section 5.15 from the City Code. Section 5.15 of the
City Code regulated Private Detectives and established fees for their regulation.
Ordinance 2964-2017 goes into effect on July 7, 2017 and therefore the fees associated with the
repealed section of Code should be removed from the fee schedule.
