Ras Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) -
Outdoor Recreation Grants -in -Aid Program
Prospective Grant Participants:
We are pleased to inform you that financial assistance is available for the
acquisition of outdoor recreation lands and/or development of outdoor
facilities. Funds are available from the Federal Land and Water Conservation
Fund (LWCF) administered through the Alaska Division of Parke and Outdoor
Recreation.
-. Please note the revised application processing dates in the enclosure. The
new schedule will allow my staff adequate time to receive and process your
appiicatlone earlier in the fiscal year. Our goal is to identify and return
those eligible projects which have been approved for funding to the respective
� sponsors in sufficient time to initiate their projects during the summer of
1985.
Also, we are encouraging project sponsors to resubmit those'prioritiaed
applications which were unfunded in prior years for consideration of•FX185
allocations. These resubmissions must conform to updated needs assessments,
revised costs, and the most current indications of land status.
�f We hope these changes will benefit each of you as prospective grantees and
will give you the opportunity to begin your projects during the summer of
1985.

LWCF GRANT INSTRUCTIONS
State agencies, local governments having parks and recreation powers and

certain federally designated Native organizations qualify for assistance.
(See enclosed informational sheets.) The LWCF provides up to 502 matching

assistance for the cost of the project. The local participant pays of
