HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE 1955-2002Suggested by: Administration City of Kenai ORDINANCE NO. 1955 -2002 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $ 16,000 IN THE GENERAL FUND TO IMPLEMENT A PLAN TO BETTER CONTROL THE PERSONAL USE FISHERY IMPACTS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE KENAI RIVER. WHEREAS, there is an increase in participation in the personal use fishery on the south side of the Kenai River that has caused environmental and social concerns; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to implement a plan similar to that which is successfully used on the north side of the Kenai River; and WHEREAS, this plan will provide portable toilet service, an iron ranger fee collection box, fee envelopes, signs and fencing; and WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough will provide an ATV for use during the season; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that next fiscal year the City will receive $ 10,000 in a reimbursable Coastal Impact Assistance Program grant through the Kenai Peninsula Borough; and WHEREAS, the remainder of the cost of this program is anticipated to be recovered through user fees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that estimated revenues and appropriations be increased in the General Fund as follows: General Mind Increase Estimated Revenues: Appropriation of Fund Balance Increase Appropriations: Parks - Operating Supplies - Printing and Binding - Rentals PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CI 2 002 .
