ORDINANCE NO. 1677-96
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCII. OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA
INCREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN A NEW
CAPITAL PROJECT FUND ENTITLED "WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT -FY96" AND IN A NEW CAPITAL PROJECT FUND ENTITLED
"WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT TELEMETRY PROJECT -FY96".
WHEREAS, in August, 1994, the City received a Municipal Capital Project Matching
Grant in the amount of $211,665 from the State of Alaska for a Water Quality
Development Program, and, $100,074 in unencumbered grant funds remain after
expenditures to dig a new production well; and
WHEREAS, through Ordinance 1623-95 adopted on January 18, 1995, an amount of
$90, 714 was transferred from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Well
Development - 1995 Capital Project Fund as a local match for the Municipal Capital
Project Matching Grant for the Water Quality Development Program, and, $42,888 in
unencumbered local matching funds remain after expenditures to dig the new production
well; and '
WHEREAS, in August, 1995, the City received an additional Municipal Capital Project
Matching Grant for the Water Quality Development Program in the amount of $211,665
from the State of Alaska for a Water Quality Development Program and has not
encumbered or expended any of the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City has pledged a local matching amount of $90,714 for the additional
Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant for the Water Quality Development Program
received in August, 1995 but has not yet passed a budget ordinance to authorize
expenditure of the funds; and
WHEREAS, on January 3, 1996 the Council accepted a legislative grant from the State of
Alaska, Department of Administration for the "Kenai Water and Sewer System
Improvement Project" in the amount of $355,975.74 and has not encumbered or expended
any of the grant funds; and
WHEREAS, on February 7, 1996 the Council accepted a grant from the State of Alaska,
Department of Environmental Conservation for the "Thompson Park Water WeII No. 3
and Water System Improvements Project" in the amount of $683,017.00 and has not
encumbered or expended any of the grant funds; and
