AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA,:^-
AMENDING THE KENAI MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 4.05.040 ENTITLED
"EXIT FACILITIES" AND DECLARING THE PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE AN t..'
ENERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska hoe revised 13 AAC 50.0209 updating a �:
the Uniform Building Code to the 1985 Editions; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska revised 13 AAC 50.020 which �
necessitates further amendment to KMC 4.05.040 after the passage
of City of Kenai Ordinance 1118-86, which had repealed
KMC 4.05.0401 and,
WHEREAS, the passage of Ordinance 1123-86 would not become
effective until May 169 1966, well into the current building
season; and::..
WHEREAS, the City of Kenai Council finds an emergency existing.,':,,'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENAI, ALASKA, se follows
Section 1:
The City of Kenai Council hereby declares an emergency to :.>..
exist requiring the passage of Ordinance 1123-86.

RE: Ordinance No. 1123-8.6
Ordinance No. 1118-86 passed March S, 1986 repealing KMC 4.0.040
entitled "Exit Facilities". The effective date of the ordinance
is April S, 1986•.
Since the passage of Ordinance 1118-869 the State of Alaska hoe •._.._� .._
revised their 13 AAC 50.920, regarding exit facilitiee, and in
order that the Kenai Municipal Code coincides with the State
code, KMC 4.050,040 entitled "Exit Facilities" needs to be
returned to the,Kensi Municipal Code.
So that the least amount of confusion will arise with the .�C.
upcoming building -season, I am re ueotin that the effective date
of Ordinance 1123-86. be. the same as the psesege date, April 169
1986. The Code Supplement,=which should be issued April 19 would
be held until April 16, 1.90-6 t6, ,Vpfjdct the changes made by
Ordinance No, 1125-86.-
