HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE 0782-19821 I 1 CITY OF KENAI ORDINANCE NO. 782-82 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, DECREASING ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CAPITAL PROJECT FUND ENTITLED "SEWER TREATMENT PLANT CONSTFUCTION" IN THE DEPARTMENT ENTITLED "SEWER OUTFALL" BY $532,753 AS A RESULT OF A GRANT DECREASE FROM THE U. S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA)* WHEREAS, as a result of much lower construction costs of the sewer-utfall than originally anticipated, the EPA has reduced its grant from eligible costs of 0653,400 to $120,647, and WHEREAS, the EPA share amounts to 75% of eligible coats, with 12.5% paid by the City and 12.5% paid by the State of Alaska, and WHEREAS, the City's share was provided by a transfer from the Water and Sewer Special Revenue Fund, and therefore, the City's unexpended share should be returned to that Fund. WHEREAS, proper accounting practices require that all appropriations of City monies be made by ordinance.
