AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, ADOPTING THE AIgNUAL
BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY I, 1978 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1979 AND SETTING
THE TAX LEVY FOR SAID FISCAL YEAR AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY .
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the Code of the City of Kenai, Alaska that the City Council
not less than ten (10) days prim' to the end of the fiscal year, adopt a budget for the followtn~
flsoal year and make an appropriation of the monies needed therefor; and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of law that the rate of levy for the property tax be set annually.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KBNAI, ALASKA as
follows:
Section 1: A tax in the amount of 13.4 mills is hereby levied against all
taxable real and personal property in the City of Kenat for the fiscal year sommeneing
on the 1st day of July, 1978 and ending on the 30th day of June, 1979.
Section 2: That certain document entitled "Ci~ of Kenai 1979-79 Annual Budget"
which is attached bm'erG and ineorporoted herein by reference, is hereby adopted
as the budget for the City of Kenai for the fiscal year commencing July I, 1978 and
ending June 30, 1979.

Section 3: The following sums of money are hereby appropriated for the operations
corporate purposes and objects of the City of Kenal for the fiscal year commencing
on the 1st day of July, 1978 and ending the 3~. day of June, 1979 to defrwy al! expe~i~s
and liabilities of the City during the fiscal year to be expended consistent with and
subject to the restri,~ions, procedures and purposes set forth in the Code of the City
of Kenai and to be expended substantially by line item in the manner shown in the budget
adopted by 8eaton 2 hereof:

Seetisn 4: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and on the Judi~ent of this
Council it is necessary for the immediate preservation, of public peace, health or safety that
this ordinance become effective prior to the time when an ordtmwy ordinance shall become
effective. The x'ules governing the introduction, reading, passage and approval of this ordinance
ave hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage,
approval end publication as required by the City Charter.
