ORDINANCE NO. 325-77
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, DIRECTING
THE SALE OF CERTAIN LANDS, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, lands have been foreclosed on by the Kenai Peninsula Borough for
non-payment of City and Borough real property taxes and deeded to the City of
Kenai, and
WHBREAS, the City owns certain lands which are not needed by the City for
public purpose, and
WHEREAS. such lands have been reviewed by the {(enai Advisory Plannini~ and
Zoning Commission and it has recommended that they be sold for private develop-
ment, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that such lands be sold at public
auetion to the highest bidder; terms to be that the highest bidder at the time of
sale shall deposit 1096 of the bid or $1,000.00, whichever is greater, as ~.a~lest
money and shall pay the remaining balance at the time of closing. Closing shall
be within ninety (90) days of the date of sale and shall be accomplished through
an escrow company doing business in the City of Kenat. Costs of closing shall
be paid by the buyer. Fox* bids in excess of $5,000.00, buyer, at his option,
may pay 20% of the bid with the remaining balance to be financed by the City,
at 8% interest over ~ pelod of 10 years.
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Council that such lands should be sold for
private development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Kenai, Alaska,
that the Council hereby directs that the following individual parcels or groups
of parcels be sold to the highest responsible bidder with the minimum acceptable

The Council further directs that the highest responsible bidder at the time of

Auction of this land shall be held on Wednesday, March 16, 1977, at 7:00 P .M.
in the Council Chambers, Kenai Public Safety Building, Willow Street, Kenai,
Alaska.
