ORDINANCE NO. 349-77
AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF LIFT STATION
PUMPS, AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF $10,000 IN EXCESS OF CURRENT APPROPRIATIONS
FROM P~$ERVE FOR WATER & SEWER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, a lift station on the City sewage system became inoperable due to break
down of pumps, and
WHEREAS, it was necessary to replace the pumps, rather than to repair them, and
WHEREAS, the replacement of pumps of the lift station was necessar~ for the Immediate
preservation of the public health, and
WHEREAS, only one supplier was able to immediately furnish the necessary pumps, and
WHEREAS, an ordinance is required to authorize e~penditure of such monies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Kenat as fonows:
Section h This ordinance is heeeby declared to be an emergency ordinance
It is the Judg~nent of the Council that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and that it should become effective prior to the time
when an ordinary ox'dinance would become effective.
Section 2: Purchase af lift station pumps is hereby ratified for $10,000. Such
purchase was made in eceordanee with §?-3?(2) which exempts equipment which can
be ft~m~ished only by a single supplier from the requirements of eonlpetliive bidding.
Section 4: The following authorization for expenditure in excess of current
appropriation is hereby mad~ within the existing water and sewer fund reserve for
Capital Improvements.

Section 5: On this date, this ordinance has been passed upon introdueflon
by a majority of the Couneflmembers present, unanimous consent of the Counofl-
members present has been given for second .reading of the ordinance, all persons
present have been given an opportunity be heard regarding this ordinance, and five
Counc;flmembers have voted in favor of final passage of this ordinance. This
m'dinance is effective immediately upon final passage.
