HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE 0320-1977CITY OF KENAI ORDINANCE NO. 320-77 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AMENDINC SECTION 2-9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF KENAI TO PROVIDE TIIAT INTOXICATING LIQUOR MAY BE SOLD ON ELECTION DAYS. WHEREAS, Section 2-9 provides that intoxicating liquor may not be sold on election days until the polls are closed, end WHERFAS, the Council finds that there is no ptwpose served by prohibiting the sale of intoxicating liquor on eleeticn days, and WHEREAS, ptwsuant to Title 4, Alaska Statutes, political subdivisions may by ordinance provide that statutory policy regarding sales of tatoxicattntf liquor on election days does not apply within the political subdivision. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAII~D by the Counoil of the City of Kenai, Alaska, that S~tion 2-9 of the Code of the Citlr of Kenai is hei'eby amendod to road in its,~,,~- ~'.. =ut).' as follows: The provisions of AS 04.15.020(c) do not apply within the CiW of Kenai when elections are being held and intoxicating liquor may be sold or otherwise disposed of within the City of Kenai on election days in the same manner and ptn'suant to the same regulation as on other days.
