BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of genai, Alaska, that:
Section 1, Section 7-35 of genai Code, 1963, as amended, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 7-35. Same: When prior approval by Council is required.
(a) Every contract for, or purchase of, supplies, materials, equipn~ent or
eont~'aetual cervices which exceeds the sum of two thousand five hundred
dollars ($2,500.00), shall require the prior approval of the Council, with the
following exceptions:
(1) Utility bills
(2) Routine investment purchasing
(3) Monthly oayments for payroll and payroll deductions
(4) Monthly payments in trust for ~.enai Utility Service ~orp.
(5) Authorized debt
(6) Janitorial service paymont,
(b) Payments made on the items excepted above will be ratified by
Council at the next regular Council meetin~r followimz such paTr, ent. Only the
City Manager, or his desiiarnated official, may authot'ize contracts for, or
purchase of, supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services for sums
less than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00).
