AN ORDINANCE of trte City of Kens/, Alaska, providing
for the submtez/on to the qualif/ed eiector~ of
the city at a special election to be held therein
on Way 13, 1969 of a proposition of whether or
not the city should issue its &choral obligation
bonds in the principal amount of $ 150,000, fo[
the purpose of prnvid/nz part or
required to make necessary capital lmprovementb
to streets throuzh~ut the c/fy; and declaring an
emer&eney.
~EREA$, in order to proviG~ ~ne C/fy of Kenai, Alaska
(hereinafter called the "C/fy"), with an adequate street system it
~s deemed necessary and adv/sable that the C/fy construct certain
cap/tel ~mprovements to ~ts ex/~t/n& street system, and to provide
par: or all of the funds therefor t~at it issue its unlim~te~ tax
levy &choral obliger/on bonds ~n the principal amount
and
~IBREA$. the Const~ution of thc State of Alaska an~ the
Chartc~ o£ the C/fy requ/re that the question of ~hether or not such
bonds may be !ae~ed ~o~ such purposes must be submitted to the qualified
electors of the City for their ~atiftcation or re~ectton;

Kenal, Alaska, as follows:
Section 1. It ma hereby found and declared that ~e public
health, ~elfare, safeSy and conventence'requl~e the City to .:~rri out
the plane hereinafter p~ovtded.
Bectlon 2. For the purpose o£ providin& £und~ necetvury to
pay part or all of the costs of gradin&, filling, surfacing and pavln$
streets throu&hout the City where deemed necessary and also constructin&
and installinE gutter0 and curbs wt~ere deemed necessary, the City ~all
/osue mad sell /ts unlimited tax levy Reneral obltEation bonds in the
principal a~ount of $_150,000~_.

oo~e From assesomento, grants, or other ~neys which the City may
now or later have on h~d ~nd available for such purposes. Upon
determination oF the amounts of money ovallab!e from ouch sources
other th~n the proceeds of the sale of such bonds, the Councll ~hall
determine the specific J~nprovements to be acquired, constructed and
Installed,
Sect/on ~o The above-mentioned bonds shall be cold et not
less than par and accrued interact ~o tl~e date oF dellver~ and In such
amounts and at eue~ time or tlme~ as deemed necessary and advisable by
this Council and as pe~nttted by la~, shall bear interest payable seml-
annually at a rate not to exceed the maximum rate pe~nlt~ed by law at
the tlme of the sale thereoF, a~d shall mature serially In ouch a~ounts
and at such t~mes in no~ to exceed thirty years from date oF ~s~ue as

ouch bond~ shall be payable out oF annual tax levies ~o be mede upon
