AN OflDINANCE AMF~TDING CHAPTER 20. CF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF KENAI BY ADDING TflEHETO SECTIG~$ 20-17, 29-l§ AND 20-19,
PROVIDING FOR TKE INSTALLATION OF LIGHTED SIGNS ON EACH CAB, THE INSTAL-
LATION OF METEHS PON THE M.F~SUR~G OF CHA~GES AND THE ESTABLISHING OF
RAT~S TO BE CHAR~.~D ~ SUCH METERS.
WHEREAS, it is apparent to the City Council of the City of Kenai that
there is need for the installation of lighted "TAXI" signs on each taxi
operating in the City of Kenai; and
WHEREAS, it im deemed in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Xenai that there be installed in each Taxicab operatin~ in the
City of Kenai, a proper meter for tbs measurement of charges for taxi-
cab services; and
WHEREAS, it is ~esireous to adjust the fees to be charged so that
they may be properly calibrated on the said ~eters;
BE IT ORDAINED BY TKE COUNCIL OF THS CITY OF KENAI, ALA~SKA~
Section 1. That the Code of the City of Kenai, 1963, is hc~'.~.by amended
to add the following provisions to read as follows:
Section 20-17.
On and after the first day of February, 1967, there shall be
installed in eac~ taxicab operating in the City of Kensi a meter for the
measuring of charges for taxicab services. Said meter shall be of the
"flag" type and shall show clearly the fare and a card shall have posted
thereon clearly printed the rates on which the fare is based. Ail meters
to be installed shall be approved by the City Manager prior to installation.
Section 20-18 TAXI LIGHTS
On and after the first day of Februaz,j, 1967, there shall be instal-
led on the top of each taxicab operating in the City of Kenai an
illuminated sign clearly stating "TAXI" o~ "TAXICAB" or "CAB". Said
si~n shall be connected so that it is lighted at all times when it is
dar~ and the cab is either in operation or standin~ waiting for hire.
