That only that part of Section 17-1 of the Code of Ordinances o£ Kenai, alaska, providin~ fees for electrical permits, consisting of twenty-on~ (21) numbered paragraphs, is hereby amended to read as Follows, and that all other parts of ~ection 17-1 shall remain in Full force and effect: %~hen extra inspections are made necessary by reason of defective work, or otherwise through fault or error on the part of the holder of the permit, or on the part of his employees, after notice has been given in writinE by the electrical inspector setting forth the violation, only one such extra inspection shall be made under the regular fees as herein prescribed; and for each further extra inspection for which the holder of the permit, or his employee, is entirely responsible, fees ~hall be char~ed as follows: For the first such inspection Fo~ the second such inspection For each additional such inspection 10.00 15.oo z5.oo The inspection department shall allow, for correction of such work, a minimum of ten wor~in~ days followin~ t~e date of inspection. Section 3. That Section 17-8(F) of the Code of Ordinances of lanai, ~[aska, is hereby amended to read as follows: (c) The city clef2 is directed to ~eep on file in his office at least 2 copies of the National ,.leccrical Code, 1965 Ldition, for public use~ inspection and examination so lon~ as the provisions thereof remain in force. ~e, ction 4. That 3ection 17-(G) of the Code o£ Ordinances of Kenai, Alaska, is herby amended to read as follows: (d) The following additions, amendments and deletions are here- by made to the 1965 Edition of the ~ational Electrical Code of the National Fire Protection Association, adopted by re- ference in Subsection (a) of this section: Article: 210-15 (hI (1~. Said Article is amended by adding thereto the ~Ollowin~ sentence: No wire smaller than No. T~elve (~.~12) shall be used on 15 or 20 ampere branch circuits in residences. 210-22. Said Article is amended hy adding thereto the following paragraph (d): In residences therc shall be one outlet in each hallway of 10 or more linesl feet. 210-22. Said Article is amended by ad~in~ thereto the £ollowinz paragraph (£): h"or each dwellin~ unit there shall be at least one exterior weather proof duplex outle~ on a separate circuit where outside on site parkin~ is provi~ed. 210-22. ~aid ~r~icle is amended by aodin~ thereto the £ollowin~ paragraph (~): In residences any un£inished basements or attics must have a minimum o£ one (1) ceilin~ outlet for each 250 square feet of floor space and a minimum of two (2) plu~ receptacles located on separate wall. Ail basements or attics lar~er than 250 square feet shall have a minimum of two (2) circuits, one for ceilin~ outlets, one for wall receptacles. At each entrance to the basement or attic, there shall be a switch controlling at least one (1) inside light. There shall be a light illuminating inside stairways to the basement e~ attic, controlled by a switch. .210-22. Said Article is amended by addin$ thereto the £ollowing paragraph (h): Ail basements or attics, suitable for occupancy and with unfinished partitions installed, other than bearing walls, shall be wired completely as required in Article 210-22 (bi of this Code. _2.10-2~ (a)...(1). Said ~rttcle is amended by adoing thereto the followin~ parazraph (e): ?or each electric hot water hea~er, a minimum size #10 wire shall be required. 220-3. Said Article is hereby amended by amendtn~ paragraph (b) %~--~d as follows: For the small appliance load in a kitchen, two or more 20 amp branch circuits in adc ttion to the branch circuits specified in ~ection 220-3 (a) shall be provided for receptacle outlets w~t~ ~o~ ,~ore tha~-~ fuur (~) outlets on each circuit. ~(eceptacle outlets supplieO by at 1east one separate 20 amp appliance circuit shall be installed for each of the following: Dintn~ room, dinette, laundry. A separate 20 amp circuit must be installed for each of the following: wa~hor, dishwasher, and each ~as dryer. ~]0-26,. Said Article is hereby amended by addin~ the following paragraph (a): A periscope service shall be used when a meter loop is installed on a single story structure with a flat roof. ~.hen it is necessary to locate a meter loop on the low side of a structure with a pitched roof, a periscope shall be installed to protect the wiring from ice and snow. Only rigid steel conduit shall be used for periscope service. 230 26~ Bald Article is hereby amended by adding thereto the ]=¢~1ow~ng paragraph (b):. Hi~id conduit used for periscopes shall bsa minimum size of 1~1/2 inches and must extend at least two and one-.half feet (2-1/2) above the surface of the roof; how- ever, for an extension higher than three foot (3'), the peri- scope must be braced, 230-26. No meters can be installed on any enclosed porch or shed which is not permanently opened to the meter reader. (Ref. Article 300-6 (a). O-112 {a}. Said Code is hereby amended by ad~ini the followinE para,apb as follows: Non-metallic sheathed cable may only be used in the hollow spaces of walls and ceilings of wood frame construction and must be concealed by the permanent finush of the building. Conductors attached to the side or bored through the ceiling Joists or studs, shall be ~onsidered as concealed by the permanent finish.
