RE~OLUTION NO. 2001-33
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO WRITE A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR EFFORTS OF THE ALASKA
PORK PROJECT, INC. IN SEEKING AND ACQUIRING FUNDS FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A BUSINESS PLAN.
WHEREAS, a presentation was made in regard to the Alaska Pork Project, Inc. and its
interest in obtaining funding to create a feasibility study and bankable business plan
for developing a pig meat industry in Alaska; and,
WHEREAS, the Kenai City Council recognizes the importance of agriculture
development and economic diversity in the State of Alaska.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, authorizing the Mayor to write a letter supporting the efforts of the Alaska
Pork Project, Inc. to acquire funding for the development of a bankable business plan is
authorized.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, this 16th day of May,
2001.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
At their regular meetings of May 2 and 16,2001, the Kenai City Council discussed the
Alaska Pork Project, Inc.'s efforts in developing a pig meat industry in Alaska. In their
discussions, the council recognized the importance of agricultural development and
economic diversity in the State of Alaska, as well as the importance of identifying the
viability of such a project.
To that end, the Kenai City Council authorized this letter be issued, supporting the
Alaska Pork Project, Inc.'s efforts in seeking and acquiring funding for the creation of a
feasibility study and bankable business plan for developing a pig-meat industry in
Alaska.
