CITY OF KENAI
RESOLUTION NO. 98-46
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI DESIGNATING THE
KENAI MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TERMINAL (EXLUDING THE UPSTAIRS LOUNGE) AS A
SMOKE-FREE FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the Kenai Municipal Airport terminal is identified in the State of Alaska
Department of Environmental Conservation Smoking Law, AS Sec. 18.35.300 (1) as
a "PLACE WHERE SMOKING IS REGULATED"; and,
WHEREAS, the regulations require that the terminal be a no smoking area, or allow
for a portion (but not all of it) to be designated as a smoking area; and,
WHEREAS, it is determined that designating the Kenai Municipal Airport terminal
.(excluding the upstairs lounge) as a smoke-free facility is cost effective; and,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai has determined that designating the
Kenai Municipal Airport terminal (excluding the upstairs lounge) as a smoke-flee
facility is in the best interest of the City and the airport users.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA that the Kenai Municipal Airport Terminal {excluding the upstairs lounge) be
designated a smoke-free facility effective August 1, 1998.
