O0 (option 1) (option 2) WHEREAS, the following is a description of the basic bid: Supply playgTound equipment as specified in the bid specifications. WHEREAS, the recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Commission is to award the contract to Division 10 Products,-!nc, for the basic bid for the total cost of $20,000.00, and WHEREAS, the Council of the .City of. Kenai' has determi"ed '..th&t Division 10 Product's bid for the. basic bid .is the most reSponSible bid and award to this bidder would be in the best interest ofT/~e' City, and WHEREAS, sufficient monies are appropriated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE COUNCIL'OFTHE'CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that the contract, for furnishing playground equipment be awarded to Division 10 Products, Inc. for the total amount.of $20,000.00 which includes the basic bid. The Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kermi Paninsula Borough was not in the bid package from Game Time c/o Sitelines when opened on Maroh 28' 1995,. The bid specs stated bids would be rejected ff the certificate was not Included. The certificate was received by fax on March 30, 1995. '~ Various differences were found in the structure materials: Decks: Burke. 13 gauge steel . ..: Game Time- 9 gauge steel ·. Clamps - Burke 'has a hinged clamp that encompasses. the post ~re.. Game Time has a single bolt' connection. Burke clamps, have 'a-lifetim'e. warranty. .. In installing the Game Time equipment in Municipal Park two years ago, we had a number of Instances where we had .to drill new holes to'make plecas fit, thus prolonging the assembly time. This seems to be an on going problem with Game Time a. Bob Frates rePOrted that several people at the Maintenance Management ~hool he attended. In February mentioned the same type of problems. I contacted the AnChorage Parks Department to get a comparison of BUrke.. and Game Time as they have both types in their park sYStem. They echoed the same problems on installation and felt that Burke had a heaVier, more solid structure. ·
