A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
A CONTRACT FOR AVIATION PLANNING SERVICES
ASSESSMENT TO ARIES CONSULTANTS, LTD. FOR THE
$24,500.

WHEREAS, FAA has' determined that 'the referenced

for the above referenced project:
HDR Engineering, Inc.
Aries Consultants Ltd., B & B Environmental
WHEREAS, this resolution and award of the project is contingent
upon FAA approval, and
WHER.EAS, the recom~endation from the Airport Manager and the Public
Works Department is to award the contract to Aries Consultants,
Ltd. in the amount of $24,500, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai has deter~inedthatAries
Consultants, Ltd.'s proposal for the specified work is in the best
interest of the City, and
WHER~S, sufficient monies are appropriated.
NOW, THEREFOI~E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI,
ALASKA, that the contract 'for Aviation Planning .... Services -
Environmental Assessment be awarded to Aries Consultants, Ltd. for
the total amount of $24,500.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA 20th day of

Re Consultant Selection for an Environmental Assessment of
the Airport Drainage and Safety Zone Improvements Project.
It is my opinion that both HDR and Aries have the expertise to do
the environmental assessment of the airport drainage project.
However, I recommend that we hire Aries Consultants Ltd. Aries
has been more directly and most recently involved with projects at
the Kenai airport. I have worked with them on three Kenai airport
projects and have always found them to do excellent work. The
individuals at Aries who will be preforming the work appear t° have
a slight edge over HDR in that they have more experience in airport
related projects.
The af~iliation Aries has. with B & B Environmental gives, them
specific expertise in dealing with Alaskan environmental concerns
while offering a local contact. The combined work schedule of
Aries and B & B Environmental allocates more time of their firms
key personnel to accomplish this EA.
