following transfe~ of monies be made in the 1979-80 State Jail Contract

Request t-hat S?.j00G_~0 be transferred frum the Jail Contin-
gency (80Q9) to Jail Machine~+ ar~d Equipment (8064) .'I'he
purpose of this tr.ar~sfar would be for the purchase of the
follawing;
2. Donble oven range to replaoe si.-~qle oven range presently
located in the kitchen.
J 2. Refrigerator to be lccated in close proximity to the
" jail area.

1. Wi.*.h tr.a i.ncreasing man-day caunt the p*-esent single oven is
inadequate for meal preparaticm. It has been takiiig up to two
hours preparat-.ion far each mFal. Becau.se of this, transfers
of priRioners, oourt appointments, visiting hour5, and other
duties of the jailers have not bePxi oorxiucted in an effecient
mannP.x on many occasions.
2. Present refrigerator in the Fol~ce Department is inadequate
to serve both the needs of. persoa~nel on duty as well as the stor-
~ge capacity required by the jail. The additional r.efrigera-
tian capacity for the jail would allaw for larger quantity
storage, tiius cutting dawn on the rnunber of tr.ik?s to the store
far purchasing of supplies.
3. The Mqryday count at the jail has increased significantly.
At present between 3? ar±d 45 meals are being prepared da.ily
f~r the irrmate population. 'If~is has resatted in the request
for increased capr~citie~ dr~d capabilities.
