A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CZTY OF RENAI, ALASKA,
RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE FORMATION OF THE CENTRAL PENINSULA
DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Council of
the City of Kenai, Alaska, that the CENTRAL PENINSULA DEVELOPMENT
COUNCIL has received a Certificate of Incorporation from the
State of Alaska, Department of Commerce and Economic Development,
dated December 4, 1980, for purposes of fostering economic
development, attracting industry to the community or area,
encouraging the development of ,or retention of, an industry in
the community or area, obtaining stable economic growth in the
area, relieving and reducing unemployment, promoting and
providing for additional and maximum employment, bettering and
maintaining job opportunities, carrying on research for the
purpose of aiding the Central Peninsula area in attracting
industry or further economic development, instructing or training
individuals to improve or develop their capabilities for jobs,
and to lessen the burdens of government and act in the public
interest, and
WHEREAS, attainment of the objectives of this new non-profit
corporation would advance and promote the economic development of
the entire Central Peninsula area, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai desires to recognize
and commend the good citizenship involved in forming this
corporation for the economic development and stability of the
Central Peninsula.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENAI, ALASKA, as follows:
1. The Council of the City of Kenai, Alaska, hereby
recognizes and acknowledges the formation of the CENTRAL
PENINSULA DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL to foster and encourage economic
development, attract new industry, encourage the development and
retention of existing industries, and to obtain stable economic
growth of the Central Peninsula area, and

2. That Gene Collins, Jess L. Hall, John Monfor, Dick
- Stetler, and Waller Taylor, III, the organizers and incorporators
of this non-profit corporation, should be, and hereby are,
commended for their good citizenship in devoting their time and
energy in organizing and serving as the initial directors thereof
in its efforts to create a new and better economic climate within
the CEnkral Peninsula area, and
3. That the Council of the City of Kenai, Alaska, hereby
- commends each of the individuals who has contributed his time to
- the incorporation and development of this effort and further
expresses his hope that their endeavors will be crowned with
success.
