" iVHEREAS, the equipment supplied by Peninsula Hot Tubs is better at meeting the needs of the City, and . WHEREAS, the equipment specifications as offered by Peninsula Hot Tubs are in substantial conformance with the requirements set forth in the R.F.P., and tiVHEREAS, Peninsula Hot Tubs is local, has been in business three years and should provide faster service when required, and tt1HEREAS, Peninsula Hot Tubs with a bid of $5,955 is the bid that is recommended for award by the Parks and Recreation Director, Commission, and the engineer, and tVHEREAS, acceptance of Peninsula Hot Tubs' bid is in the best interest of the City of Kenai and does meet the budget requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that the bid for all equipment for two complete spas be awarded to Peninsula Hot Tubs for the bid price of $5,955. Anchorage, Alaska The Plumber's Friend Yakima, Washington Acuff Enterprises Salem, Oregon By July 13, 1981 we had received quotes from the first two suppliers listed above only. The bid tabulations and prop- osals are included for your review. R7e recommend that Peninsula Hot Tubs be selected to provide the requested equipment. Our rEasons for this recommendation are as follows: 1). The equipment specifications as offered are in substantial conformance with the require- ments set forth in the R.F.P. 2). The recommended supplier is local, has been in business three years and in our opinion should provide better service when required. The true cost differential (adjusted for extras provided by Peninsula Hot Tubs) is estimated to be approximately $800.00.
