A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENAI, ALASKA,
INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF CLEANING DEPOSIT FOR THE MAIN ROOM OF
FORT RENAY.
WHEREAS, the Senior Citizens' Director has reported that the City
is losing money on rentals of the ;Hain room of Ft. Renay because
the refundable key and cleaning deposit amount set under
Resolution Na. 78-114 is insufficient to cover cleaning costs,
iet alone a deposit for the key, and
WHEREAS, due to increased costs, it is desirable to increase the
amount of that deposit so that private parties will not, in part,
ue supported by the City of Kenai.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENAI, ALASKA, as follows:
Section 1: The first paragraph only of Item 4 of Resolution
No. 78-114 is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
"Item 4 $~yment of DegQsit
A refundable key and cleaning deposit will be required of
all parties renting the main room of Ft. Renay in the amount
of $50.00."
Section 2: The second, third, and fourth paragraphs of said
Item 4, Resolution No. 78-114, will remain unchanged.

RESOLUTION N0. 78-114
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS
AND UPDATING RATES FOR RENTAL OF FORT KENAY.
WHEREAS, there are currently no regulations regarding the use of Fort Kenay, and
WHEREAS, the rate schedules adopted in the past need to be updated, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that such regulations be established
and such rates be updated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council"of the City of Kenai, Alaska, as
follows:
Item 1. Resolution Nos. 75-60, 75-61 and 76-2 are hereby rescinded in their
entirety.
Item 2. Rental Areas.
(a) The main room (ground floor) is available for use by the genera] public.
(b) The kitchen area may be rented, PROVIDED the main room is also rented.
Item 3. Rental Rates. Fort Kenay shall be rented on a reservation basis
only and only dur ng those hours not conflicting with the Senior Citi2ens nutritional
program. Use of the Fort at any time other than during those hours for which reserved
will be considered a violation of this resolution.
Rent ~ha11 be collected in advance from all parties using the main room of
the Fort in the following amounts:
1 - 2 hours $ 5.00
3 - 4 hours $12.50
Over 4 hours $25.00
(up to 12 hours)
Rent shall be collected in advance from all parties using the kitchen area
of the Fort in the followi:g amounts:
1 - 2 hours $15.00
3 - 4 hours $30.00
Over 4 hours $60.00
(up to 12 hours)

Item 4. Payment of Deposit. A refundable key and cleaning deposit will
be required of a1I parties ren`ing the main room of Fort Kenay as follows:
l - 2 hours $25.00
3 - 4 hours $25.00
Over 4 hours
(up to 12 hours) $50.00
A separate deposit will be required for use of the kitchen area as foTiows:
1 - 2 hours $ 50.00
3 - 4 hours $ 75.00
Over 4 hours $125.00
These deposits will be returned to the rentor by mail following return of
the issued key, provided the Fort is left in a clean and orderly state and provided
that no provision of this resolution has been violated, as determined by the
Senior Citizens Director. No refund of a deposit will be made until so authorized
by the Senior Citizens Director, but under no circumstances will a deposit be held
longer than fifteen (15) days from the date that the Fort is rented.
In the event that the Senior Citizens Dir~ccor determines that the Fort
has not been left in a satisfactory manner, the deposit will be forfeited by the
rentor in the amount necessary for the City to have the Fort cleaned.
Item 5. Exceptions to Provisions of this Resolution. No party shall be
exempt from any provision of this resolution except by formal application for such
exemption to the Kenai City Council.
Item 6. Use of any area of the Fort other than the main room and kitchen
to which tTie rentor is issued a key is strictly prohibited. Anyone violating any
provision of this resolution shall be barred from future use of the Fort and their
deposit will be forfeited.
