A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, PROVIDING FOR SUBMISSION TO
THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF ~ CITY OF KENAI AT THE REGULAR OCTOBER 3, 1989
ELECTION, PROPOSITIONS FOR THE PURPOSES OF EXEMPTING MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND
CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE FRONT HE STATE OFALASKACONFLICT OF INTEREST LAW
(AS 39.50), AND MUNICIPAL CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE AND POLITICAL GROUPS
AND PERSONS ATTEMPTING TO INFLUENCE THEOUTCO~EOF A MUNICIPAL ELECTION FRONT HE
STATE OF ALASKA CAMPAIGN DISCLOSURE LAW (AS 15.13).
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Kenai feels that the Conflict of Interest
and C~mpatgn Disclosure Statements do not have any specific advantage tn
protecting the electorate; and
WHEREAS, the Council feels that the Conflict of Interest and Campaign Disclosure
Statements are an unnecessary added burden on candidates for public office and
municipal officers; and
WHEREAS, the Council feels the Kenai Municipal Code adequately protects the
City's interests and the rights of the citizens of Kenai.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITYOFKENAI, ALAS~, that
the following propositions be submitted to the qualified voters..of the City of.
Kenai at the October 3, 1989 regular election in substantially the same for~as
set out hereinafter:
PROPOSITION
Shall the municipal officers and candidates for elective office of
the City of Kenat-be exempt from the. requirements of the State of-
Alaska Conflict of Interest Law (AS 39.50)?

PRQpOSITION
.Shall the municipal candidates for elective office and political
groups and' persons atte~pting, to influence the outcome of'
'municipal election of the' C~ty of .Kenai be exempt from. the
requirements of the State of Alaska Campaign DisClosure. Law
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF TH~ CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA this 2nd day of August, 1989.
