Suggested by: Administration CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION 84 - 75 e e an, C y C erk Approved by Finance: _~~~'~ A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT, COORDINATION, SURVEYING, TESTING, AND ENGINEERING INSPECTION SERVICES TO WINCE, CORTHELL, BRYSON ON THE PP.OJECT ENTITLED, STELLAR DRIVE - 1984, FOR THE AMOUNT OF $14,900. WHEREAS, the City of Kenai received a proposal from Wince, Corthell, Bryson, and WHEREAS, Wince, Corthell, Bryson was the engineering firm that worked on the design Phase I of this project and is more familiar with this project, and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department and the Council of the City of Kenai feel that it is in the best interest of the City of Kenai to award this contract to Wince, Corthell, Bryson, and WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that a contract be awarded to Wince, Corthell, Bryson for Project Management, Coordination, Surveying, Testing, and Engineering Inspection Services on the project entitled, Stellar Drive - 1984, for the amount of $14,900. As part of updating plans and incorporating Ci±y of Kenai Specifications, we propose to determine quantities for construction, update and print plans for public bidding purposes (30 sets), provide special provisions, cover sheet and bid proposal sheets and bind all documents, after printing is performed by City. We propose to provide inspection personnel and testing services for the above construction activities generally in accordance with your standard inspection requirements. We will, in accordance with the City's policy, arrange for an experienced Survey Crew to provide basic survey layout. The Survey Firm will provide proof of professional liability to the City. Throughout the course of the project, we will schedule survey crews, process survey billings, and submit them together with our own billings, for payment by the City. We propose to provide services in accordance with our schedule of rates and charges, copy enclosed. Phase Estimated Cost Update Plans/Specs $3,500 (Lump Sum) Inspection Services $6,000 Construction Surveying $4,400 Test+ng S1.000 Total $14,900 (Not-To-Exceed) We have based our estimate upon time assumed to be allowed the Contractor for construction activities (30 calendar days). We have further assumed that the Contractor will be active for 12 working days. We propose that our not-to-exceed limitations for filed inspection also be contained within these periods (excluding winter shutdowns).
