Invitation to bid was hand carried to Iocal dealers and mailed to dealers in the Anchorage area. The invitation to bid was also advertized in the Clarion. Hutchings Chevrolet-Oldsmobile was the only company who responded to our request for bids. They bid a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer for ' $14,640.07 with two exceptions to the bid specifications and one alternate that could reduce the price to $14,493.07. The exceptions are relatively minor for the intended use of this vehicle. The exceptions include a smaller engine and no rear window defrosters. We have $15,000 budgeted for this car and have no problem frith the lower bid of $14,493.07.
