BOX $E0 KENAI, ALASKA #9611 MEMNE 283 • 7$35 April 14, 1983 MEMORANDUM TO: Wm. J. Brighton, City Manager FROM: Jim Swalley, Airport Manager RE: Airport Fencing Projects On April 7, 1983, I contacted Mr. Dick Griffith of the Airports Division, FAA, concerning the City's desire to award the contract to a local bidder. He advised me that the FAA would honor only the low bid (Alaska Fence $157,497.70). After reviewing the bid specs, he conceded that we could award the Schedule B bid to Peninsula Fence, but to preclude the problems of multiple contracts, two (2) contractors on the job at the same time, etc., he strongly recommends against it and does recommend the entire bid go to Alaska Fence.
