CITY OF KENAI
RESOLUTION NO. 83-119
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA
REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE STATE OF
ALASKA TO RETAIN THEIR SOLDOTNA OFFICE, DIVISION OF LAND AND
WATER MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Soldotna office of the Division of Land and Plater
Management, Department of Natural Resources, State of Alaska has
provided their services to the Kenai Peninsula Borough government
and to the Borough's citizens and land owners in a competent and
efficient manner, and
WHEREAS, the closing of this offi^e would create a hardship upon
` local government, the citizens ano other land owners of the Kenai
Peninsula Borough who would be extremely inconvenienced by the
closure of this office, and
WHEREAS, those same entities and persons would have to assume a
much larger economic expense to deal with this agency, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources of the State of
Alaska is an agency of state government provided for the
management of not only the State's lands, but also the State's
citizens' land, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Kenai Peninsula Borough have come to
recognize the present location of said agency and depending upon
its availability.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENAI, ALASKA, that said Council go on record by urging the
Commissioner of Natural Resources to retain the Soldotna office
of the Division of Land and Water Management at its present
location and present personnel strength for the convenience and
economic benefit to the citizens of the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
