HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1982-099Suggested by —Councilman Wise i CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NO. 82-99 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, PROVIDING FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF PARTY OR PARTIES PROPOSING ORDINANCES OR RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, it would be advantageous to have the proponents of resolutions and ordinances identified so that Councilmembers might make inquiry as to intent, language used, and possible additions, deletions, or amendments to the provisions thereof, and WHEREAS, at the present time there is no indication on the resolution or ordinance as to the party or parties who suggested, requested, or proposed the preparation thereof, and WHEREAS, a great many of the ordinances and resolutions placed before the Council are prepared by the Administration in furtherance of City business. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that there be placed in the upper right hand corner of the first page of each ordinance or resolution hereinafter presented to the Council the following wording, "Suggested by:" followed by the name or names of the party or parties who have suggested, proposed, or requested the preparation of said ordinance or resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that where the ordinance or resolution is put forward by the Administration in the regular course of City business, that the word "Administration" be placed behind the above words, and where the Council as a whole has requested the preparation of an ordinance or resolution, the word "Council" shall appear behind such words. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when any ordinance or resolution may be so amended that a party whose name appears thereon can no longer support it, that name will be lined out at the request of such party so that the ordinance or resolution will indicate the original proposer, but will also indicate that said proposer no longer supports the same.
