WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services requires a letter of intent to continue the Kenai Senior Citi2ens Title III program FY 79-80, and WHEREAS, the letter of intent is due no later than January 15, 1979, however, a telephone extension has been granted until January 18, 1979, and ' WHEREAS, this resolution establishes the maximum level of '` support to be provided by the City of Kenai to be $9,100, in Renai, comprised of $7,900 in rent of Fort Kenay and accounting ~ services at $1,200, and f WHEREAB, it is anticipated that cash contributions in the amounts of $12,000 and $2,000 shall be provided by the Kenai ~ ~ Penfnsula Borough and City of Soldotna respectively, and . ~ WHEREAB, while the combinations of local match cash and in . kind far exceed the required 15$ of the program, it is ,~ understood that due to State/Federal funding limitations, no °- ~ morE than $37,471 can be anticipated in a State grant, and WHEREAB, it is understood that the proposed budqet for the - progrzsm shall be reduced if any short fall in cash contributions ~ or in the State grant occurs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit a lstter of intent to the State of Alaska, Department of Health & Social 3ervices for the continuation of the Kenai 3enior Citizen Program through FY 74-80 and establishfng local support at $9,100 of in-kind services.
