HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1978-25~~ 'FI CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION 78-25 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI , ALASKA ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF;3,041 IN FULL PAYMENT FOR ASSESSMENT LEVIED AGAINST LOT C , ROBIN SUBDIVISION (PARCEL #043-130-2700) FROM THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF KENAI WHEREAS, the City of Kenai has foreclosed upon that parcel of land known as Lot C. Robin Subdivision (Parcel #043-130-2700) for non-payment of assess- ments. and WHEREAS, the Bureau of Land Management has restricted use of that land for "religious activities" only . and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to place that above named parcel of land back on the tax rolls, and WHEREAS, the First Baptist Church of Kenai has offered ;3,041 in payment of assessments owing on said parcel of land. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI as follows: The Kenai City Council hereby accepts the ;3,041 offer of the First Baptist Church of Kenai for settlement of assessments owing on ,~~ Lot C, Robin Subdivision, Parcel #043-130-2700 and further waives the delinquent interest, penalty, and court costs and advertising fees in order for the City to collect total principal and installment interest and place such parcel of land back on the tax rolls. KENAI CITY COUNCIL FURTHER RESOLVES as follows: ' The City Manager is hereby directed to execute a Quit Claim Deed deeding such property to the Fist Baptist Church of Kenai upon .' payment of the aforementioned sum of money. We understand this is not the full amount, but it is what we feel we can came up with. If this mould meet your approval we weuld very mush like to settle this item of business on Thursday of this week. It is net our desire to default in aay debt we have bnt are trying in Chia Waq to let you know our real deaise is to settle this item which has been dragging sa for several years. We aloe would like to offer to you a word of appreciation for your patience down through the years, as we have s.ried to settle these asaeasmenta.
