RESOLUTION 73-28 fj WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has encouraged visitors from ali parts of the world to tour Alaska, and WHEREAS, transportation is a major factor in bringing visitors to the State, and WHEREAS, the Alaska Marine Highway system serves a vital role in serving the public, and WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has announced its plan to sell the M/V WICKERSHAM, and WHEREAS, it appears that this vessel can play an irt-portant rote in the future marine comme~ce activitiss of Alaska, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kenai, Alaska, that the Honorable Wiiliam A. Egan, Governor, and the Department of Public Works be and are hereby requested to reconsider the proposed sale of the M/V WICKERSHAM with the intention to see this vessel continue serving the State's residents and visitors.
