A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN EARLY ENTRY YERMIT FOR OCCUPANCY OF BUILDING 11,
WlLDWOAD AIR FORCE STATION, TO BE USED AS A FIR~ FIGHTING FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force has declared the Wildwood
Air Force Station excess to their needs, and;
WHEREAS, the Economic Adjustment Agency of the Department of Defense has
indicated that the closure of the station will be accomplished at 30 June,
197~ with a caretaker force to remain ur-~il 30 June, 1973, and;
WHBREAS, it would be mutually beneficial to the City of Kenai and the U.S.
Air Force for the City to operate the Fire Fighting Facility located on
Wildwood Air Force Station;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT:
(a) An early entry permit to building 11, be granted the City r,f Kenai,
the permit to include all fire fighting equipment and surplies.
(b) The City of Kenai will furnish one professional f.ire fighter through
30 June, 1972, provided the permit is issued.
(c) The City of Kenai will provide 24 hour structural fire protection for
Wildwood Air Force Station during the period 1 July, 1972 thru 30 June, 1973
or the period of the "Caretaker Package" in return for the use of the building.
The Department of the Air Force is to furnish all utilities, provided the
permit is issued.
