FUNDING AGENCIES FOR A GRANT TO CONSTkUCT .~ {VATF.R TRUNK L1!r't;, IVATER LATERAL LINES, IVATER RESERVOIR FACILITIES AND AAllI1'IONAL FRODUCTION WELLS TO SERVE AfOMMSEN SUBDIVISION, BUSH I.ANES SUBDIVISION AND WILDWOOD AIR FORCE STATION. WtIEREAS, certain areas within and adjacent to the City of Kenai are in critical need of a new source of water because of the discovery of arsenic in the existing supply; and WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has recognized that the level of arsenic and other deleterious elements in the existing source rendering the water unfit for human consumption; ai~d k'HERF.AS, the Health, Y~elfare and Economie well being of the City of Kenai wi11 benefit fram the construction of a water trunk line, water lateral lines, water reservoir and additional wells to serve these areas in question; a~id WHEREAS; both State and Federal funding agencies may provide construction contributions for such projects, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI: 1. The City of Kenai apply for grants from any or all State and Federal funding agencies which may make contributions for the construction of water trunk lines, water lateral lines, a water reservoir and water production wells. 2. That such applications as may be required be prepared for forwarding to appropriate State and Federal agencies. 3. That the City Manager, Edwin H. Glotfelty, be authorized as the designated official for signing the application and any other documents required for such a~nlication. Passed this 3 day of May, 1972. r~ ~ ~ 01 F.
