CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NUMBER 71 - 26
ADOPTING TNE BUDGBT FOR TH~ FISCAL YEAR OF JULY 1~ 1971, THROUGH JUNE
30, 1972, AND SETTING THE TAX LEVY.
WHER~AS, the Charter of the City of Kenai, Alaska, requires that the
City Council annually set a budget for operations;and
WHEREAS, formal advice to Kenai Peninsula Borough of the required levy
against real and personal property for taxes to secure revenues for said
budget, is required in the public interest;
BS IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITX OF KENAI, ALASKA:
1. The budget of the City of Kenai attached hereto or on file with
the Finance Direct4r, is ikereby adopted, effective July 1, 19~1~
. through June 3p,~197Z.
2. That expenditures pursuant to said budget shall require only
this authorization.unless changed or real~ocated.
3. That the said budget shall be reviewed as required during the fiscal
year.
4. That the tax levy for revenpes for said budget is set at seven (7)
mills per dollar of assessed valuation of real property and seven
(7) mills per dollar~oE assessed valuation of personal property
within the corporate limits of the City of Kenai.
S. That the seven (7) mills per dollar of assessed valuation of personal
property within the corporate limits of the City of Kenai shall be
levied subject to the foliowing exemptions: (a) househoid goods
within limitations established by the Borough~arid (b) inventories
heid for resale in the normai course of business.
6. That the City Manager of the City of ~Cenai is hereby directed to
forward a certified copy of the Resolution to the Ke~ai Peninsula
8orough as formal notification of the mill .rate levy to be
established for the City of Kenai for fiscai year 1971-72.

ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF JULY 1, 1971, THRni1(:H JUNE 30, 1972,
AND SETTING THE TAX LEVY.
WHEREAS, it is the requirement of the Charter of the City of Kenai, Alaska, that
the City Council of the City of Kenai annually set a budget for the operation o~
the City of Kenai; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to advise the Borough of the levy to be made against
real and personal property for the collection of taxes to support said budget;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA,
THAT:
1. The budget of the City of Kenai attached hereto is hereby adopted,
effective July 1, 1971, through June 30, 197~.
2. That expendiutres pursuant to said budget shall not reauire additional
authorization other than this Resolution unless reconfi.rmed by.sub-
aequent Council action.
3. That thP said uudget shall be reviewed as required durinq the fiscal
y~ar.
4. That the tax levy for support of said budget is set at 7 mills per
dollar of assessed valuation af real property and 7 mills per dollar
of assessed valuatfon of personal property within the corporate limits
of the City of Kenai, and that said mill rate ie to be obligated for
general municipai purpoaes.
5. That the 7 mills per dollar of assessed valuatini~ uf personal property
within the corporate limits of the City of Kenai shall be levied sub-
ject to the following exemptions: (a) household goods within limitations
established by the Borouqh, (b) inventories held for resale in the normal
course of businesa.
6. That the City Manager of the City of Kenai is hereby directed to forward
