HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1971-33~; _. . r _ ' T1 _ - -~=„ ~ Rt:SOLU7' ION N(1. 71 • 33 A RESO~ UT ION COMMENUI NG TfiE K~NA I P~N I NSUI.A BOROUGH SCHOOI. p~~ARD AND ADAtI N I STRAT ION ANU Tti~ K~NA I P~N I NSULA BOROUGH ASS~MBLY ANU ADMINISTRATION ~OR SUPPORTING AND PASSING TF~E NECESSARY MOTIONS REQUESTING THAT EpUCATIONAL SPECIFICATIONS BE DEVEI.OPED FOR KEN~1I CENTRAL NIGN SCHOOL. ^ ~ _ _ ~- ~. -.~- -- ~-w• ~ . _ - --° - ~~~ WHEREAS, the City of Kenai is vitally interested in supporting needed educational facilities for this area, and WHEREAS~ th~ City of Kenai has consistently supposted educational £acilities in all areas of the Kenai Peninsula Borough and WH~REAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board has shown vision and foresight in passing a motion requesting that educational specifications be developed for Kenai Central High School to include an auditorium, which could also be used for additional sports activities~ swimming pool and whatever addit~.onal ciass- rooms are needed to eliminate the portables and wha~ever addi- tional specifications may be needed to complete the facility for a minimum of 800 students; and WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board has unanimously recommended an architect to the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly to work on the above described facility and WHBREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly has voted to accept the recommendation of the School Board in this matter; NOW THERBFORE BE IT R~SOGVEA, that the Kenai City Council commends the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board and Administration and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly and Administration for supporting and passing the necessary motions as above described and urges construction of said badly needed facilities as soon as possible.
