A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN ADDITIONAL GRANT OFFL-'k FkOM 'PIIE
STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTMCNT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF ~57,500 TO BE APPLIED TO THE PREVIOUSLY
RECEIVED r1NA ACCEPTED GRANT FROM THE STATE OF AI.ASKA IN THE
MiOUNT OF $175,000, MAKING A TOTAL GRANT FROM THE STATE OF
ALASKA OF ~232,500 PI.US THE STATE OF ALASKA'S GUARANTEE OF
THE FEDERAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY'S PARTICIPATION
OF THE PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $511,500, TO FUND PROJECT N0.
WPC-ALASKA-33, THE BREAK DOWN OF FUNDS IS AS FOLLOl9S:
A: $232,500 GRANT FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA
B: $511,500 GRANT FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY - FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
C: $186,000 CITY OF KENAI
MAKING A TOTAL PROJECT FOR WPC-ALASKA-33 of $930,000.
tiVHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Environmental
Conservation has made an offer of State funds to be added to
the initial $175,000 of ~57,500. This total 232,500 representing
25~ of the revised estimated total eligibility cost for the
construction of a sewer treatment plant, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Kenai has desperate need for such a plant, and;
WHBREAS, the City of Kenai cannot construct a plant from its own
resources; '~
NOW THBREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the City of Kenai does hexeby accept the grant offer of the
State of Alaska, Department of Environmental Con~ervation in the
amount of ~57,500 to be added to the previously accepted grant
offer of $175,000 making a total of ~232,500 grant offer from
the State of Alaska to be used for the construction of a sewage
treatment plant with a polishing sand filter and hereby dedicate
such grant funds to the construction of said plant, known as
Project ~ WPC-Alaska-33.
