WHEREAS, the experience of the City of Kenai has demonstrated a general el.ectlon in the fall of each calendar year is better than in May of each year, BE IT RE30LVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA: Section l. It is hereby ordered a special election s4~all be held to pass upon a proposition to change the general election date of the City ot Kenai to the First Tuesday o~ October of each calendar year. Section 2. That the proposition regarding the change of said election time shall be as follows: Proposition No. 1 Shall the Charter of the City of Kenai, Alaska be amended to change the date of general election from the Second -~ 'a Tuesday of May oP each calendar year to the First Tuesday of October of each calendar year, commencing with the election to be held in 1972, such election to be the as Xmo~e speci~ica~ry° described lin 10rd~naiice ti87 70 eo~is'a~dlcity. That the Proposition as above stated shall be sub- mitted to the qualified voters of the City for their ratification or re~ection at a special election to be held within the City on the 8th day oP December 1970. 3ection 4. Those eligible to vote at said special election must possess the qualifications provided by the code of this city. Section 5. The designated po111ng places for all election precincts ahail be the Recreation Center (Building), Cook Avenue, Kett83, Alsska. Said polls shall be open from 8:00 o'clock a.ra. ~~ to 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the special election date, the 8th day ~ of December 1970. I j Section 8.
