RESOLUTION Nn. ~~
WHEREAS, the Beaver Loop Road, within the Cfty of Kenai, Alaska,
is within a few hundred feet of the Kalifonsky Reach Road on the beauti-
ful shores of Cook Inlet; and
WHER1rA5, a connection witi~ Beaver Loop Road and Kalifonsky Beach
Road would provide a vital link in establishment of a Kenai Peninsula
Coastal Highway; and
WHEREAS, a Kenai Peninsula Coasts? Highway would yrovide an un-
paralleled tourist attraction as well as providing access to vast areas
of the State which merit one of the highest priorities in the develop-
ment of the resources of the State; and
WHEREAS, the people of the North Central Kenai Peninsula favor the con-
nect9.on of Kalifonsky Peach Road and its northern arm along the f.•ook
Inlet, now commonly kn:awn as the North Kenai Road;
NON THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City of Kenai, Alaska:
1. That the Commissioner of Public Works be directed to commence
immediate planning of a bridge linking the Beaver Loop Road and the
Kalifonsky Beach Road.
2. That such planning for a vital link in the construction of
the Kenai Peninsula Coastal Highway be a<;corded one of the highest pri-
orities in the clevelopment of the State of Alaska Highway network.
3. That copies of this relolution be forwarded to the Governor of
the State of Alaska, the Commissioner of Public Works, the Director of
the Division of Highways and such other copies be forwarded in sufiiciPnt
quantity for other distribution as required by the Division of Highways.
