RESO:,UTION N0. .,'',~ WHEREAS, the bridge proposed for connecting the Beaver Loop Raad and t::e Kalifonsky Beach Road is a project of vital concern to the State of Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula, and the communities surrounding the area; and WHEREAS, the proposed bridge is presently rather awkwardly described by calling it a bridge "connecting Beaver Loop Road and Kalifonsky Beach Road which skirts Cook Inlet Shores"; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of people in the vicinity that a des- criptive and fundtional name be given to the proposed bridge; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City of Kenai, Alaska: 1. Tt-at the Governor of the State of Alaska, the Commissioner of Public Works, the Direc*:or of the Division of Highways are urged to take appropriate action to officially label the bridge as afore- described as the Kenai River Bridge of the Kenai Peninsula Coastal Highway. 2. That copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable !!-11iam A. Egan, Governor of the State of Alaska, Commissioner Rich- ard A. Downing, Department of Public Works, Director Sam Johnson, Div- ision of Highways, and other copies as may be required to inform other offices of the executive branch of the State Government of the intent of the Legislature in regard to the naming of the ~e~i River Bridge .of the Kenai Peninsula ,,oastal HiQFway=. These deal with the names which should be given the Kenai Peninsula ! coastal highway and the Kenai River bridge and the nee8 for canstruction of a bridge linking the Heaver Loop ~ Road and the Kalifonsky Beach Road. I . I These are, of course, all matters over which the Legislature and state officials have complete authority.
