WDEIZEAS, the City of Kenai is located at the mouth of the Kenai
Kiver on Cook Inlet cohere the entire City and it's environs are imuredi-
ately affected by said river, and the adjacent inlet waters, and
WHEREAS, the effects of the said Kenai River and Cook Inlet extend
to the surroundin area beyond the city limits on the North and to the
Lust, and
' W~REAS, L-he City of Kenai is the center of expanding developmenL•
in petroleum products, agriculture, fishing and tourist travel project-
ing a future gro•~th to be planned and guided for best utilization of all
the features of the flood plain of the Kenai Kiver.
NdfJ. Tf~IiLFORE, the Council of the City of Kenaa resolves:
1. That the Alaska District Engineer, of the Corps of Engineers, be re-
quested to prepare a Flood Plains Information Study, as authorized by
the Flood Control Act of 1960, for the area in and adjacent to the City
! of Kenai.
2. That any preliminary actions of city off icials previously undertaken
to initiate a request for a flood plain information study, are hereby
ratified.
3. The official representative of the City of Kena in al fete re-
lating to the requested study shall r~_~ ~.
