HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 1964-10i~ CITY O1' KEI1A I - RESOLUTION N©. b4- A REQUEST FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE UNDER PUBLIC LAW 81-875, FOR WHICH THE CITY OF KENAI QUALIFIES BY BEING WITHIN A "MAJOR DISASTER" AREA PURSUANT TO A DECLARATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF TBE UNITED STATES WHL+REAS, the City of Kenai is a home-rule city organized pursuant to the laws of the State of Alaska, and qualifies for assistance under Public Law 875 by being located in a mayor disaster area, NAT THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the G~.ty of Kenai: 1. That the Office of Emergency Planning be requested to have appropriate fedrral agencies perform services essential to the health, safety or welfaare of the people and property of the City of Kenai as may be required to pr~.•vide adequate engineering for detailed submission to the Office of Emergency Plan:~ing for approval, and on approval for the construction, supervisi.~n and administration of the following: • ` (a) stabiliz;~tion of the dock-side bank of the City of i Kenai doclc. (b) stabilization of the river bank at Kenai. (c) a study of the affect of the subsidence (or submergence whichever may be the correct analysis of the condition existing) at Kenai which is presently evidenced by higher tides. (d) a survey of the power and light system to determine in detail the damage sustained by the earthquake. (e) other engineering studies as may be necessary to de- termine the effects of the subsidence (or submergence which ever may be applicable) of the land in the City of Kenai and its adverse effect upon the facilities and property and welfare of the people of Kenai. 2.
