RESOLUTION N0. 67-14
REQUESTING THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
FACILITIES ON THE KENAI MUNICIPA! AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the increase in air traffic in the KG~i Area and more
particularly on the Kenai Municipal Airport, is on a rate greater
than planned; and
WHEREAS, the increase in the air traffic is creating a hazard to
flying public since such air traffic is not controlled; and
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Federal Avlation Agency
to construct and operate such traffic control facilities where the
need is justified;
NOM THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENAI, ALASKA,
1. The Federal Aviation Agency is hereby respectfully requested
to immediately conduct such operations as will control the air
traffic at the Kenai Municipal Airport.
2. The Federal Aviation Agency is hereby requested to construct
and operate a traffic control tower on the Kenai Municipal Airport
as soon as physical facilities may be available.
3. That copies of this resolution be submitted to Mr. George M.
Gary, Di rector, of the Federal Aviation Agency for Alaska; the
Honorable E.L. Bartlett, U. S. Senator from P.laska; the Honorable
Ernest Gruening, U.S. Senator from Alaska; and the Honorable
Howard Pollock, Member of Congress from Alaska.
Passed this 19th day of April, 1967 at Kenai, Alaska.
